When moving, we are obligated to provide you with basic coverage. In domestic moving, we provide basic coverage of $0.60 per pound per article and for moving internationally we provide $0.40 per pound per article. This is a basic coverage that will provide minimal coverage for your goods.
In most cases, when moving customers would like to obtain additional coverage and in most cases, this is mainly for their peace of mind and to secure in case of any unexpected damages.
Here are a few options:
- Total loss policy, that will cover you in case the container or the entire shipment is lost.
- Full replacement coverage which will cover all items that you declare on the application with different amounts of deductible. between $250 to $1000. The higher the deductible, the lower the premium rate. The rate is based on the declared value of your goods.
- Not buying insurance and taking full responsibility for any damage that may happen.
Nobel Relocation strongly recommends getting some sort of coverage. The insurance is purchased through a third-party insurance company and not by Nobel.
